A selection round for candidates applying for the positions of Vice President of the Student Parliament and Leader of the Youth Union’s Primary Organization at the Samarkand Branch of Kimyo International University in Tashkent was held.

During the selection process, candidates presented their initiatives, promising projects, and proposals aimed at further improving student life. Their projects were thoroughly reviewed by the council members led by Aylin Rakhmatova, President of the Student Parliament of Kimyo International University in Tashkent.

Particular attention was paid to the candidates’ leadership potential, initiative, teamwork skills, sense of responsibility, and the practical value of their proposed projects.

This selection round represents an important step toward increasing young people’s social engagement, helping them demonstrate their leadership abilities, and encouraging their active participation in university life. After all, active, initiative-driven, and responsible young people are the driving force behind the university’s development and the builders of a better future.

The memorandum of cooperation provides for organizing practical training opportunities for students majoring in Traffic Management, as well as conducting seminars, training sessions, and master classes between the two partner organizations.

A football tournament titled the “Founder’s Cup” was held among students of the main campus of Kimyo International University in Tashkent and its Namangan and Samarkand branches. The Samarkand campus proudly hosted the tournament. A total of eight teams competed for the trophy, demonstrating enthusiasm, precision, speed, and strong teamwork.

Participants were awarded diplomas and commemorative gifts. At the conclusion of the tournament, it was emphasized that inter-campus sporting competitions would continue in the future.

The tournament was not only a sporting competition among students from the university’s three campuses but also an important opportunity to get acquainted, build friendships, and strengthen mutual connections.

Throughout the competition, the teams demonstrated outstanding sporting skills, unity, and a strong determination to win. Such sporting events encourage students to stay physically active, promote a healthy lifestyle, and foster a spirit of friendly competition among university teams. Furthermore, the tournament provided students with unforgettable experiences and became a memorable event that strengthened friendships across the university’s campuses.

Mahmudkhoja Behbudiy (1875–1919) was a great Uzbek enlightener, one of the leading figures of the Jadid movement, a writer, playwright, journalist, and educator. In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, he actively worked to promote public education, advance modern teaching, and reform society.

With the aim of providing the children of his nation with a proper education, Behbudiy established a new-method school and personally taught students. Despite living in one of the darkest and most turbulent periods in history, he continued to educate children in his own home, write educational materials, and stage theatrical productions. Although these activities put him at risk, he remained committed to the hope of a brighter future for his nation until the end of his life.

To honor the memory of such enlightened ancestors and preserve their rich cultural heritage for future generations, the house where Behbudiy taught has reopened as the Behbudiy House Museum. Today, the museum tells the story of the Jadid movement and pays tribute to a man who sacrificed his life for the enlightenment of his people.

Students from Group 253 of the Primary Education programme at the Samarkand Branch of Kimyo International University in Tashkent visited the Mahmudkhoja Behbudiy House Museum to explore the great enlightener’s rich legacy. A. Usmonov, Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, and G. Ahmedov, Director of the House Museum, shared insights into Behbudiy’s life and work and his contribution to education and science.

The future educators paid tribute to the great ancestors who, more than a century ago, spared neither their resources nor their lives in the pursuit of public enlightenment. The visit left the students with lasting impressions and helped them gain a deeper understanding of the importance of Behbudiy’s rich spiritual legacy in contemporary education and the moral development of younger generations.

The Faculty of Medicine at the Samarkand Branch of Kimyo International University in Tashkent is implementing a range of initiatives to support talented students and enhance the skills of academic staff and students in artificial intelligence and computer technologies. These efforts are producing tangible results, including achievements in subject Olympiads and the development of students with expertise in artificial intelligence.

Recently, a ceremony was held to honour the winners of subject Olympiads and participants who successfully completed the relevant training programmes.

Academic staff and students who successfully completed the “Artificial Intelligence Literacy” training course, organised in collaboration with the KIUT Samarkand Branch, IT Park Samarkand Branch, and Fidelety AI Health, were awarded certificates.

In addition, the winners and runners-up of the inter-campus subject Olympiad received diplomas and commemorative gifts from the university's leadership.

Congratulating the winners and runners-up, the branch director, Professor Nizamjon Ishonkulov, emphasised that the university's leadership remains committed to supporting talented young people who set an example for their peers through their knowledge, abilities, and potential.

Initiatives of this kind play an important role in developing students' intellectual potential, strengthening digital literacy, and equipping young people with the skills needed to succeed in an era of rapid technological transformation.

Respect for the language is respect for the nation!

A spiritual and educational event entitled “Respect for the Language Is Respect for the Nation!” was held at the Samarkand Branch of Kimyo International University in Tashkent to mark the 37th anniversary of Uzbek being granted state language status.

The event was opened by the branch director, Professor N. Ishonkulov, who emphasized that the Uzbek language is an invaluable treasure reflecting the national identity, spirituality, and culture of our people. Particular attention was given to the role of the native language in society, enhancing its prestige, preserving its purity, and passing its rich linguistic heritage on to future generations.

During the event, presentations were delivered by Associate Professors M. Hazratqulov and A. Xo‘jamqulov of the Department of Preschool and Primary Education Methodology. Their presentations explored the history of the Uzbek language, its contemporary development, its role in preserving national values, and the importance of developing young people's speech and communication skills.

As part of the cultural programme, students presented poems, expressive performances, and creative presentations celebrating the Uzbek language. Their contributions helped strengthen participants' love, respect, and pride for their native language.

The event played an important role in fostering national pride and patriotism among young people, strengthening respect for the Uzbek language, and promoting its richness and expressive potential.

Students from the Tourism program at the Samarkand Branch of KIUT participated in the “Road Show” presentation organized by the Samarkand Regional Territorial Department of the Agency for Management of State Assets.

The event focused on introducing state assets scheduled for privatization, including state-owned shares in enterprises, vacant buildings and facilities, and land plots.

During the event, participants received detailed information about state-owned properties and land plots, as well as the procedures for acquiring them through the electronic auction platform e-auksion.uz.

A volunteer-based social and psychological training session entitled “I Am Part of Society” was organized at the Samarkand branch of the SOS Children’s Villages Association, with the participation of third-year Psychology students.

During the training, interactive activities were conducted to help children develop self-confidence, a sense of social belonging, and an understanding of their place in society.

This initiative provides students with an opportunity to apply their professional knowledge and skills in practice while fostering social responsibility, empathy, and humanitarian values.

Professor Daniel Haitas, Dean's Representative of the Faculty of Law at the University of Debrecen (Hungary), delivered a lecture to students of the Samarkand Branch of Kimyo International University in Tashkent on the topic “Europe–Uzbekistan Relations from Ancient Times to the Present Day.”

The students listened to Professor Haitas’s lecture with great interest and had the opportunity to receive answers to their questions. The audience was particularly impressed by Professor Haitas’s familiarity with Uzbek culture and his use of expressions characteristic of Uzbek culture throughout the lecture.

On the occasion of the 37th anniversary of Uzbek being granted the status of the state language, a “Mass Dictation” competition was held among faculty members and students at the Samarkand branch of Kimyo International University in Tashkent on October 21.

The main purpose of the competition was to further enhance the status of Uzbek as the state language, strengthen respect and appreciation for the mother tongue, improve participants’ spelling and literacy skills, and reinforce their ability to adhere to the norms of the literary language.

During the event, participants put their knowledge and skills to the test by demonstrating their understanding of Uzbek spelling rules, the correct use of punctuation marks, and accurate written expression. The competition provided faculty members and students with an opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation of the richness of their mother tongue, develop their language culture, and strengthen their knowledge.

The Uzbek language is an essential symbol of our national identity, spirituality, and culture. Preserving, developing, and passing it on to future generations in its pure form is the responsibility of each and every one of us. A seminar on “Classification of Intellectual Property Objects and the Procedure for Protecting the Results of Human Intellectual and Creative Activity” was held at the Samarkand Branch of Kimyo International University in Tashkent.

The seminar was attended by I. Ubaydullayev, Chief Consultant of the Samarkand Regional Branch of the Intellectual Property Center under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the administration and academic staff of the KIUT Samarkand Branch.

During the seminar, the participants discussed ways to improve joint activities, the classification of intellectual property objects, procedures for protecting the results of human intellectual and creative activity, as well as priority tasks aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the academic and research activities of the teaching staff.

A competition is being organized among students and young people with the aim of promoting an in-depth study of the Jadid movement and the lives and activities of the victims of repression; widely highlighting their contributions to the development of the country, science, education, and culture; developing students’ research skills; strengthening their sense of patriotism and respect for cultural and spiritual heritage; supporting young researchers; and encouraging their academic potential.

Nuraliyeva Ozoda Narboyevna, Acting Associate Professor and PhD at the Samarkand Branch of Kimyo International University in Tashkent, is participating in an international professional development programme at Rowan University in the United States titled “Artificial Intelligence in Education: Theory, Leadership and Practice.”

The programme is jointly organised by the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Higher Education Personnel and Nordic International University. One faculty member from the Department of English at the Samarkand Branch of Kimyo International University in Tashkent is participating in the programme.

Throughout the programme, participants are exploring the theoretical foundations of artificial intelligence, the effective use of modern AI platforms in the educational process, and best practices for integrating these technologies into university management and education systems.

In addition to theoretical instruction, the programme includes practical training sessions and seminars, providing participants with valuable opportunities to further develop their professional competencies.
