On the occasion of the 37th anniversary of Uzbek being granted the status of the state language, a “Mass Dictation” competition was held among faculty members and students at the Samarkand branch of Kimyo International University in Tashkent on October 21.

The main purpose of the competition was to further enhance the status of Uzbek as the state language, strengthen respect and appreciation for the mother tongue, improve participants’ spelling and literacy skills, and reinforce their ability to adhere to the norms of the literary language.

During the event, participants put their knowledge and skills to the test by demonstrating their understanding of Uzbek spelling rules, the correct use of punctuation marks, and accurate written expression.
